Positano with Friends

Updated Oct 27, 2026ExperiencesAbout the Brikette team

Overview

Travelling with friends is easier when everyone agrees what they are booking. At Hostel Brikette, compare the actual booking units, occupancy, bathrooms and privacy before you choose a room.

A group booking does not automatically make a dorm private or guarantee that every bed is together. Use the room description for the selected dates, then ask reception about any request that the published information does not answer.

Positano with Friends: Dorm, Double or Apartment?

Dorm beds, a private double or an apartment?

Check the current room page for bed count, bathroom type, terrace or view and permitted occupancy. The private double is not a multi-bed group room, and selecting several dorm beds does not turn that dorm into an exclusive booking.

ChoiceWhat it meansBest for
Dorm bedsOne bed per person in a shared room; bathroom arrangements depend on the selected dormFriends comfortable sharing with other guests

Can friends stay in the same room?

If you need friends to be together, contact reception before booking via the help page or at reception, and explain the group size, dates and preferred room type. Ask what process applies to separate reservations and whether the requested arrangement can be confirmed.

Specific bunk assignments are not guaranteed. A booking for beds in the same dorm is therefore different from a promise that friends will have neighbouring bunks or a private room. Keep the published occupancy and bathroom arrangement in mind when you compare options.

If the same-room process is not confirmed, treat it as a request rather than a booking condition. Do not assume a group buyout or exclusive use is available.

Practical details for a friends trip

Dorm guests must be aged 18–45. Confirm private-room eligibility directly if a traveller is outside the dorm range.

Brikette is on the upper road near Chiesa Nuova. The entrance has stairs, and ferry arrivals reach the waterfront below. Plan the uphill approach with bags, and read the Chiesa Nuova arrival guide and luggage-storage guide before travelling.

Friends who book separately should keep their confirmation details and ask reception early about any shared-room request. Do not rely on a message in a group chat as proof that a room, bed position or occupancy has been confirmed.

A simple booking decision

Choose dorm beds when shared accommodation suits everyone and the room's published occupancy works for your party. Choose the private double when two people want their own bedroom. Consider the apartment only when your group fits its current permitted occupancy and reception confirms any question about the arrangement.

Then compare the selected dates, room facilities and final rate at the rooms page. If the answer depends on co-location, occupancy or an apartment arrangement, ask reception before making separate bookings.

Separate shared commitments from optional choices

Optional means someone can decline without losing access to the rest of the holiday. An excursion is not genuinely optional when the group books accommodation far away and makes that excursion the only way everyone can return together.

The shared plan should be affordable to the lowest agreed budget, not merely to the organiser. People can then spend more on choices that do not force the same commitment on others.

Shared coreOptional additions
A suitable room or set of beds for the confirmed party.A premium room upgrade that some people choose separately.
The travel needed to reach and leave the base.A private transfer chosen for convenience rather than necessity.
A workable ordinary meal and local-day plan.A particular expensive dinner or paid beach service.
Any activity everyone explicitly agrees is central.A boat excursion, additional outing or night out that not everyone wants.

Evenings: decide how the group can split comfortably

Not everybody needs to stay out for the same length of time. Agree a meeting point, how anyone leaving earlier will return and what costs are shared. A “we will work it out later” arrangement can leave somebody paying for transport they did not expect or feeling obliged to continue.

For a view-led bar visit, check the actual policy. Franco's Bar, for example, operates first-come, first-served and describes seasonal, weather-dependent opening. A particular table or immediate entry should not be assumed. [R07-8]

For a club, use the venue's official date and ticket information. Do not build the budget around a historical admission price or assume every evening has the same programme. [R07-9]

You can also choose a meal, dessert or a quiet final evening. Calling it a girls' trip does not require a particular level of partying, luxury spending or matching outfits.

Tips

  • Agree whether everyone is comfortable sharing with other guests.
  • Compare the selected room's beds, bathroom and occupancy.
  • Ask reception before booking if co-location matters.
  • Treat bunk position as unassigned unless reception confirms otherwise.
  • Plan stairs and luggage from the waterfront.

FAQs

Can four friends book a dorm as a private room?

No assumption should be made. Dorm beds are in a shared room unless the published product explicitly says otherwise. Ask reception about the current process before booking.

Can we choose our bunks?

Specific bunk assignments are not guaranteed. You may state a preference, but treat it as a request unless reception confirms an arrangement.

Can friends book separately and stay together?

Ask reception before booking with your dates, names and preferred room. Separate bookings do not by themselves guarantee co-location.

What age policy applies to dorms?

Dorm guests must be aged 18–45. Contact reception to confirm eligibility for a private room if a traveller falls outside that range.
