Positano to Naples centre — port approach and city arrival
This guide covers the existing photo route from Hostel Brikette toward Positano's beach-level pier and the onward journey into central Naples. First confirm that a suitable ferry runs on your date and which Naples terminal it uses. For sailing choices, tickets, luggage and cancellations, use the detailed Positano–Naples ferry guide.
The annotated map and street photographs are reference images, not a new inspection of current pavement, crossings or access. Check local signs and allow time for bags and stairs.

Before leaving Brikette
Confirm your sailing and the exact Naples terminal with the operating company before heading downhill. The NLG route page includes both directions; select Positano → Napoli Beverello and your date rather than reading the opposite timetable.
Plan backwards from the operator's check-in, voucher-exchange and boarding deadlines. Add the hostel entrance stairs, the route to the pier and time to manage luggage. A fixed walking estimate should not decide whether you can catch a ferry.
If you need post-checkout bag storage, arrange it through the guest app under the approved storage conditions, and leave enough time to collect bags before your onward journey.
Follow the reference map toward the pier
Start at Hostel Brikette, Via Guglielmo Marconi 358, and descend the entrance stairs to the main road. The existing hostel-to-ferry-dock guide expands the numbered map shown here.
In the existing sequence, point 1 marks the turn off Via Marconi toward the downhill road near the tabacchi. The path then uses the stair entrance at point 2, the narrow passage at point 3 and the road crossing and further stairs at point 4. Point 5 continues past shops and through the pedestrian area toward the waterfront.
This route contains stairs and road crossings. Check the current signs and conditions instead of relying only on an old shop front or green arrow. If walking with your bags is unsuitable, verify a local Interno service or licensed transfer for the day. Confirm the actual pickup and drop-off; neither a vehicle nor porter removes every access step automatically.
Positano's ferry pier is at beach level. Follow the operator's instructions to the assigned boarding point rather than assuming the end of the pier serves every sailing.
At Positano's port
Have the correct operator's ticket or reservation ready and complete any required ticket collection or voucher exchange. Check the destination, intermediate stops, any vessel change, luggage terms and boarding deadline against the selected journey.
The operator's carriage conditions are the starting point for its tickets and baggage; they do not establish every other company's rules. Ask the crew where to place bags and follow instructions on the gangway.
For full booking and disruption planning, use the detailed ferry guide.
Identify your Naples arrival terminal
Check the terminal named for your sailing before travel and listen for any arrival change. Naples has several waterfront terminals; a route that works from Molo Beverello may not start at another pier.
Wait for the crew to invite disembarkation, collect your bags and follow current terminal signs. If your next train is time-sensitive, include this arrival process and the trip to the station in the connection, not just the ferry's scheduled arrival time.
From Molo Beverello to Napoli Centrale
From Molo Beverello, follow current signs toward Municipio / Porto for ANM Metro Line 1, then travel to Garibaldi for Napoli Centrale. The official Line 1 page includes both stations and access notices. Check the day's service and the ticket you need.
Allow for the walk between pier, station entrance, platform and mainline concourse. Do not assume a fixed transfer time, a particular exit or a working lift. If you need assistance, verify the whole transfer before committing to it.
From another terminal, use the operator's onward directions and current transport information. A licensed taxi from an official rank is an alternative; confirm the destination and meter or applicable tariff rather than relying on a universal fare.
Choose the onward connection
Staying in Naples: ask your accommodation for the route from the actual terminal, rather than travelling to Centrale automatically.
Airport: ANM Alibus connects the port, Centrale and Naples Airport. Check the directional stop list and current notices, the actual flight airport and airline deadlines. Do not treat a ferry-plus-bus connection as guaranteed.
Train from Napoli Centrale: use the operator shown on your ticket and allow time to reach the correct platform. A ferry reservation should not be assumed to protect a separately booked train connection.
If sea or road disruption changes your plan, verify the complete remaining journey before buying another ticket.

FAQs
Can I follow the photographs as current turn-by-turn directions?
Use them as references for the existing numbered route, alongside present-day signs and conditions. They are not a new field inspection. The walk contains entrance stairs, downhill steps and crossings; assess your bags and needs before choosing it.
Does every Positano ferry arrive at Molo Beverello?
Do not assume that. Confirm the exact Naples terminal for the selected operator and sailing, and check arrival updates. Use the transfer instructions for that terminal.
How do I reach Napoli Centrale from Molo Beverello?
Follow current signs to Municipio / Porto and use ANM Metro Line 1 to Garibaldi, connected with Napoli Centrale. Check service, access and ticket conditions, and add walking and platform time. From another pier, check a different onward route.
Where can I compare ferry tickets and a land backup?
Use the detailed ferry guide linked above for date-specific operators, boarding, luggage and disruptions. Compare a currently operating bus-and-train route if the ferry or connection does not fit; neither option guarantees every onward train or flight.
