Positano to Naples Airport by Bus | Hostel Brikette
Positano to Naples Airport — bus via Sorrento
Take a suitable SITA bus from Positano Chiesa Nuova to Sorrento, then the Curreri airport bus from Sorrento station to Naples Capodichino. These are separate services: plan the actual connection and your airline's deadlines before buying.
For November 2026, check the airport operator's runway-work closure announcement and confirm the flight date and actual departure airport with your airline. Do not plan an airport transfer from an old flight schedule.

Plan the two separate bus legs
Start with the flight's actual airport, departure time and airline check-in/bag-drop deadlines. Work backwards through Curreri, the Sorrento transfer and the SITA trip from Positano, adding the hostel entrance stairs and the walk to the stop.
The order is Hostel Brikette → Positano Chiesa Nuova → Sorrento station → Naples Airport. A SITA ticket is not automatically a Curreri ticket; check the product and luggage conditions for each operator.
- Confirm the flight and actual airport with your airline.
- Choose a dated Curreri Sorrento–airport departure with sufficient margin.
- Find a SITA journey that reaches Sorrento with transfer time and a fallback.
- Buy the correct tickets and confirm the day's boarding points.
From Brikette to the Sorrento-bound stop
Leave Hostel Brikette at Via Guglielmo Marconi 358 by the entrance stairs, then follow the main-road approach toward Chiesa Nuova / Bar Internazionale. The road leg is about 120 metres / 390 feet; it is separate from the stairs. Allow time for your bags and visibility rather than treating this as a fixed three-minute connection.
Use the Chiesa Nuova departure guide for the local approach, and confirm the Sorrento-bound boarding position and destination with the driver or authorised seller for your service. Do not join the Amalfi-bound queue by mistake.
The local Interno stop at Tabacchi Cafiero on Viale Pasitea is a different service and location; it is not the SITA stop for this journey.
Tickets, validation and cost
Check the official SITA ticket guidance and buy the correct Positano–Sorrento ticket through an authorised channel before queuing. Confirm the route's fare class; a general regional price grid does not establish this journey's fare. Follow the validation instructions for the actual paper or digital ticket rather than assuming every ticket is stamped or torn by the driver.
Use Curreri's official airport-shuttle page for the separate airport leg and booking conditions. On 25 October 2026 it published €13 for the airport–Sorrento service. Treat this as a dated reference, not a guaranteed future quote or the total fare from Positano.
Check availability, luggage, changes and any booking deadline before relying on a departure. Do not assume that tickets or seats will be available at the station on the day.
Change at Sorrento station
Take the SITA service to Sorrento's bus/train station and follow current signs and Curreri instructions to the airport-bus boarding point. Confirm that the bus is for Napoli Aeroporto / Capodichino and show the ticket or reservation required for your booking.
Allow time to get off the SITA bus, collect your bags, find the Curreri departure and meet its boarding requirements. A timetable arrival and departure at the same minute is not a workable planned interchange. The two operators should not be assumed to hold a connection for one another.
Read the correct direction and date
Use the SITA Amalfi–Positano–Sorrento timetable catalogue. Read Positano Chiesa Nuova departure and Sorrento arrival in the same journey column, checking the table's date, route variant, day legend and service notices. Do not copy a summer frequency, last bus or universal F/G/H rule from an old article.
Then select Sorrento station → Naples Airport on Curreri's page. At the 25 October 2026 check, this direction's table allowed 90 minutes; the inbound airport → Sorrento reference was different. Neither figure covers the SITA leg, waiting, traffic or airport procedures.
At that check, Curreri advised taking its bus at least five hours before the flight. Recheck the operator's current advice and your airline's deadlines; allow the Positano leg and transfer on top of the plan. This is not a guarantee that any particular flight connection is safe.
For November 2026, read the official airport runway-work notice and confirm the actual airport with the airline. Use the current notice and airline confirmation for the dates that affect your flight.
Bags, stairs and assistance
Check both operators' current baggage allowances and assistance arrangements before buying. Vehicle capacity and access can vary; keep aisles and exits clear and follow the crew or driver's instructions.
The hostel entrance has stairs, and changing buses means handling your bags again in Sorrento. If that does not suit your needs, compare a licensed transfer with confirmed vehicle, luggage capacity, pickup and total quote. Do not assume that a car makes the hostel entrance step-free.
If you plan to leave Positano later after checkout, use the luggage-storage guide and guest app to arrange eligible storage; do not let bag collection leave too little time for the onward trip.
If the bus connection does not work
If the required Curreri bus is unavailable or the SITA connection leaves too little margin, compare a licensed direct transfer or a checked route via Sorrento, EAV to Naples and ANM Alibus to the airport. Verify every leg for the date; changing routes does not remove traffic or missed-connection risk.
Use the Naples city bus-and-train guide for that alternative. For an early flight, consider a different departure plan or staying nearer the actual airport the previous night if no checked same-day connection meets the airline's deadlines.
Before leaving the hostel or changing plans in Sorrento, check operator notices, the full remaining cost and actual arrival time. A ticket purchase alone does not guarantee an onward flight connection.
FAQs
How do I get from Positano to Naples Airport by bus?
Use a suitable SITA service from Positano Chiesa Nuova to Sorrento station, then the separate Curreri bus to Naples Capodichino. Check the date, both tickets, luggage and a realistic transfer before relying on the route for a flight.
Which bus stop near Brikette do I need?
Use the Sorrento-bound SITA service at Chiesa Nuova / Bar Internazionale, confirming the day's boarding position. The approach includes the hostel stairs and about 120 metres / 390 feet along the road. The local Interno stop at Tabacchi Cafiero is different.
How much does the airport transfer cost?
Add the verified current Positano–Sorrento SITA fare, the selected Curreri fare and any applicable luggage charges. The dated €13 Curreri reference covers its airport–Sorrento service, not the whole journey from Positano.
How long should I allow before my flight?
Work backwards from your airline's deadlines using both dated timetables and transfer, queue and traffic margins. Curreri's Sorrento–airport table checked on 25 October 2026 allowed 90 minutes and the page advised taking its bus at least five hours before the flight. Recheck that advice; add the Positano leg and do not treat a timetable duration as a guaranteed connection.
Should I book Curreri in advance?
Check availability and current booking, change and luggage conditions through Curreri before travelling to Sorrento. Do not assume a seat or station ticket will be available on the day, or that SITA and Curreri hold connections for one another.
What if I cannot make the first airport bus from Positano?
Compare a licensed transfer or another fully checked route, including the actual airport and airline deadlines. If no same-day plan works, arrange a different departure or an overnight stay nearer the airport; do not rely on an unverified early bus or last-minute taxi.
