Choose the actual room arrangement

Compare the current room details and total for both guests. Two beds in a dorm do not give exclusive use of the room, a particular bunk or guaranteed placement together. Ask reception before booking if staying together is essential.

Set expectations for shared spaces

Bring earplugs and an eye mask if you are sensitive to noise. A private room gives more privacy, but no room is a guarantee of silence. Follow the house rules, keep calls and conversations considerate, and ask about room details rather than assuming a quiet location can be assigned.

Plan the arrival and your evenings

Brikette is uphill in Chiesa Nuova and has entrance stairs. The roughly 120 m approach from the SITA stop by Bar Internazionale is only the final main-road leg, not the walk from the beach or ferry.

Calculate the privacy premium for the whole stay

Compare final quotes with equivalent date, occupancy and cancellation assumptions. Two bed prices should be added together; a whole-room price should not be multiplied by two again.

Here is hypothetical arithmetic, not available Brikette or hotel pricing. Two dorm beds assumed at €70 each would cost €140 per night for the couple. A private room assumed at €165 would cost €25 more per night. Across three nights, the difference would be €75 for the couple, or €37.50 each, before any unequal taxes or inclusions.

That example does not establish that privacy costs only a little in Positano. It shows how to make the decision using your real quotes. A different date could produce a much larger difference—or a private option with a similar total.

Then adjust for genuinely included services. A private room with breakfast is not directly comparable with beds on a room-only rate unless you account for the meal you would otherwise buy. A refundable quote is also a different product from a restrictive one.
