Plan Positano → Amalfi → Ravello

This route has two buses and a change in Amalfi. Route 5120 is the Salerno line, not the Amalfi–Ravello route. Check the Positano-to-Amalfi first leg and the dated 5110 timetable for the second leg.

A bus day trip can suit travellers carrying a small day bag. With large luggage, consider the two boardings, possible standing or queues and the walk after arrival. Leave enough time for both return legs rather than planning around the last possible connection.

Buy tickets for both legs before boarding

Use SITA's ticket and validation guidance to buy the appropriate tickets through an authorised retailer or supported Unico Campania digital channel. Ask for the complete journey via Amalfi and any return you need. Do not rely on buying from the driver.

Validate paper tickets, or activate/check in with the app, as required for the product and each bus; keep the tickets for inspection. The personal COSTIERASITA pass runs for 24 hours from first validation and requires the passenger details specified by SITA. Check its current coverage and price against separate tickets; it does not automatically include Positano's Interno service.

Fares changed on 1 October 2026. Use current operator ticket information rather than an old online fare. A ticket does not guarantee a seat or the connection in Amalfi.

Read both timetables for your travel date

Open the official 5110 timetable and official 5070 timetable. Check the validity period, direction, day legend and footnotes. The version checked on 26 October covers 5 October–1 November 2026; use the replacement for later travel.

Read each chosen journey down one column. In the checked table F means working days Monday–Saturday, H Sundays/holidays, G daily, S school days, N non-school days, L Monday–Friday and 6 Saturday. These are service-day codes, not unique journey letters.

The 5110 table includes branches through Scala and its hamlets, repeated Ravello rows and gaps. Follow the actual sequence for your selected column; do not combine different columns or assume every Scala service serves your Ravello stop.

Check SITA's notices alongside the PDF. Experimental school-service changes took effect on 5 October. Traffic, queues and full buses can change your usable connection, so leave a buffer and identify a later option.

Walk from Brikette to Chiesa Nuova

Leave the hostel by the entrance stairs and follow Via Guglielmo Marconi toward Bar Internazionale/Chiesa Nuova, about 120 m / 390 ft along the road. Confirm the marked Amalfi-bound boarding position before joining a queue; cross only where appropriate.

The SITA stop is on the main road near Bar Internazionale. The local Interno stop beside Tabacchi Cafiero on Viale Pasitea is a different stop and service. Signal the approaching bus and confirm 'Amalfi' with the driver.

Change in Amalfi for route 5110

At the Amalfi bus terminal, find the current signed departure for Ravello/Scala and confirm that the selected 5110 journey serves Ravello. There are multiple departures and branches: do not assume a permanent numbered stand or board solely because the destination says Scala.

Allow time to unload bags, find the next boarding position and validate or check in as required on the next bus. If you miss the connection or a bus is full, consult the next applicable journey column; a fixed service interval is not guaranteed.

Use the central Ravello bus area and check the signed stop

Largo Giovanni Boccaccio is the central bus area near the pedestrian passage toward Piazza Duomo. The municipal street layout identifies a scheduled-bus boarding area there, but it does not establish today's exact SITA bay. Follow current signs and ask the driver which Ravello stop your journey serves.

Do not rely on an old Via della Marra map pin: SITA published a suspension notice for the stop by Galleria Nuova. That open-ended March notice is a reason to confirm the current stop, not proof that it remains closed today.

Continue on foot toward Piazza Duomo

After getting off at the central bus area, follow the signed pedestrian route toward Piazza Duomo. Keep clear of the bus manoeuvring area. Confirm the return stop before heading into town, because the nearest map marker may not be the active boarding position.

Plan any villa visit using that venue's current opening and admission information. Do not assume the same walking time or accessibility for every sight, or that a bus ticket includes admission.

Travel light and plan hostel bag storage

Check SITA's current baggage conditions. Non-obstructing hand baggage up to 50 × 30 × 25 cm is free under the published rules; other bags require a baggage ticket. Larger bags depend on suitable luggage-bay space. Handle your own bags and keep aisles and exits clear.

If you need help carrying bags, agree porter assistance separately: provider, collection, delivery, timing and full charge. A bus ticket does not reserve luggage space, and bag transport does not remove the hostel's entrance stairs.

If leaving bags after checkout, enrol through the hostel's guest app. The hostel must have received your agreement to the terms, and storage is subject to availability. It is free until 15:00. If you have not returned by 15:00, bags are automatically transferred to the porters, who charge for storage. Check the return before spending the day in Ravello

Plan Ravello → Amalfi → Positano as two separate legs, with enough margin to catch a service serving Chiesa Nuova. An outward bus or ticket does not guarantee a return seat.

If this is checkout day, checkout is at 10:00 and the storage deadline remains 15:00. If returning to check in, room check-in is 15:00–22:00; contact the hostel promptly if delays could affect your arrival.
